I got this from ASHRAE today, for all those who have joined ASHRAE as student members, here's a great opportunity to meet industry people !!Good afternoon, I apologize for the short notice; we have a guest speaker for the November dinner meeting (November 2nd 2015). Because the dinner meeting is located close to 404 and highway 7; we have arranged for a free seminar at Seneca Newnham campus located at Hwy 404 and Finch. It is absolutely free for all students and chapter members, but you will have to register online due to seating limitations. Please see information below: ASHRAE - Seneca Alumni - Slab Cooling Seneca Alumni and ASHRAE Toronto Chapter would like to invite you to the FREE Seminar “Slab Cooling” – Presenter: Distinguished lecturer Devin Abellon As more and more jurisdictions and building owners are requiring higher levels of LEED certification for their projects, design teams are looking beyond traditional HVAC solutions to provide the energy efficiency needed to maximize LEED points while maintaining occupant comfort and safety. In-slab radiant heating systems have enjoyed popularity both here in the United States and abroad for years. Now, with the availability of improved control systems and better understanding within the design and construction community, the same concept can be applied to radiant cooling as an energy-efficient and cost-effective solution.
